Bergführer Wipptal Tirol

Drytooling - rock climbing with crampons and ice axes - is the ideal activity for the November-December mid-season. You want to work on your crampon and rope technique or prepare for ice climbing and big alpine tours? Then the drytooling course in St. Jodok is just the right thing.

The program:

  • Day 1: Presentation of the area, equipment check, allocation of rental equipment. First climbing meters in the Drytool climbing garden.
  • Day 2: Basics and further training of climbing and belaying techniques in the Drytool climbing garden.
  • Day 3: Refinement of climbing and belaying techniques in the Drytool climbing garden. In addition, belay techniques for multi-pitch routes and rappelling are practiced. In the meantime, we have already become well accustomed to the "scratching" of the crampons and ice axes in the rock, a melodious sound 😅. After the 3rd day we are also ready for the next step: climbing a multi-pitch tour.
  • Day 4: Climbing a multi-pitch drytool route, deepening the rope team flow, abseiling via the abseil piste.

Duration: 4-days tour
Number of participants: max. 4 persons
Physical and technical requirements: surefootedness, climbing and mountaineering experience is an advantage, but not absolutely necessary
