Winter traverses are the supreme discipline in the cold season. New terrain all the time, descending/descending differently than you ascend, and constantly changing conditions and viewpoints. This guarantees a lot of variety!
The Wipptaler winter traverse for ski tourers and snowshoe hikers is a 6-day region traverse from Mieders to Brennerbad with daily altitudes between 800 and 1200 Hm. A special feature of the Wipptaler ski traverse is that in the first five sections you do not have to carry your entire week's luggage, but only daypacks. Accommodation is in the first five sections in the fixed hotel base. The last night is spent with hut flair in the Enzianhütte at 1894 m.
