The Drytool-Gym Drachenfels at the Bergisel in Innsbruck is probably unique in this form:
- Feels like in the middle of the city
- Constructed according to the climbing gym principle, i.e. there are at least 3 possible tours per anchor line.
- Completely equipped with drilled and marked hooks
- Perfectly accessible on foot or by public transport
Drytooling has changed from a neglected marginal sport to an important alpine discipline. On the one hand, it is a useful way to bridge the off-season, and on the other hand, it is specific training for hard ice climbing tours.
The drytooling day at Drachenfels includes an introduction to movement and belaying techniques by the mountain guide. After that we climb until the forearms can no longer.
